                                               recognized at Federal, State and City levels.  Tartan Day commemorates the
                                               huge contribution Scots and Scottish Americans made to the idea of the States
                                               uniting and to their development as the  U.S.A.  Tartan Day brings a modern
                                               touch to ancient traditions which yet today bind the people of America, Canada
                                              and Scotland.
